Massage Therapy

I feel your pain.

The patterns and stresses of life can accumulate and cause tension, strain, and discomfort. Those physical distortions and mental distractions can prevent even the most disciplined human from being present in their body and functioning fully in the moment.

Focused and informed therapeutic touch will leave you better equipped to move back into you body and out into your life.

With an open dialogue and appropriate technique, I work to positively impact your body, mind, and mood as well as your ability to function fully and with presence.

What Massage Clients Say

I Feel Your Pain

As a heavy user of my own body (10 years as a dancer and 11 years as a manual therapist), as one who’s experienced significant surgery, and as a physical being, I feel your pain.  And here’s the thing about pain.  It’s designed to interrupt your thoughts.  It’s designed to cut through your discipline and disrupt your day because it’s your body’s way of telling you, “Hey, this thing over here needs your attention because something’s about to cause damage.”

Pain and discomfort are designed to get Your attention in a big way.

Yes, pain can stem from injury or potentially injurious conditions.  But not always.  Persistent discomfort can arise from overuse, inefficient alignment, trigger points, repetitive stress, old scar tissue…you get the picture.  While these things likely don’t represent an imminent threat to your short-term survival, your body doesn’t know that.  It only knows function and dysfunction, efficiency and inefficiency, enough support or not enough support.  And dysfunction, inefficiency, tension, and injury all come with the same symptom.  Pain.

The intelligent use of massage can help to reduce restriction, eliminate persistent pain, and cultivate comfort.

When your body begins to crave so much of your attention, you have less to devote to your passions, your studies, your family, friends, pets, and house plants.  And let’s be honest, you need that all of that energy you busy, beautiful human you.

Massage offers me the opportunity to step back into my body.

Whether applied locally or whole-body, whether deep or superficial, whether tailored to a specific condition or just to feel good and anywhere in between, massage can help.

And sometimes, it just feels good.

Focused and informed therapeutic touch will leave you better equipped to move back into you body and out into your life.  With an open dialogue and appropriate technique, I work to positively impact your body, mind, and mood as well as your ability to function fully and with presence.

I look forward to working with you,
Buddy
